This week our students and staff explore the Virtue of Responsibility. Responsibility is fulfilling one’s just duties; accepting the consequences of one’s words and actions, intentional and unintentional

A thought from Archbishop Lefebvre
How do we see our Lord on the cross? We find Him bloody, torn by the blows of the lashes received during the flagellation, crowned with thorns, His heart pierced by the lance, His hands pierced by the nails, His feet as well, His knees certainly bloodied by the three times He fell carrying the cross. Our Lord is therefore in a state of victim, in a state of indescribable pain.

However, beyond that pain, we should also perceive the immense joy of our Lord Jesus Christ at the thought that He is reestablishing the honour and the glory of His Father. Henceforth humanity in His person reestablishes the bridge, the link with God, with the Holy Trinity. Perfect glory, total, complete glory, is rendered to God by our Lord Jesus Christ.

We wish our Year 7/8 students competing in Volleyball and Tennis all the best for their respective fixtures today.

Congratulations to the Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 students who completed the NAPLAN testing. NAPLAN is the only national assessment for all Australian students and is compulsory for students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. The students sat assessments in writing, reading, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy.

I would like to thank the parents who attended the Athletics Sports on March 19th and the Community Engagement Session on Friday, March 22nd. We greatly appreciate the support shown by parents throughout this busy first term.

Each child will receive their Interim report at the end of this week via Parent Lounge. These reports are a window into the child’s progress at this point in the academic year. They should be seen as a tool to support student learning across the coming terms and help identify areas of exemplary performance, as well as those in need of support and assistance.

Illumino is the quarterly magazine of the College that will be published at the end of each term. The publication will feature insights into the different areas within the College across term one and be disseminated to parents via the College App during the holidays.

As we approach Easter, let us embrace the spirit of renewal and hope that the season brings. Let us strive to choose goodness over adversity, hope over despair and righteousness over wrongdoing. May we find fresh energy to pursue our dreams and the courage to face challenges with a renewed sense of purpose to grow, learn and lead.

I trust we all have a safe and rejuvenating break.

God Bless.

Mr Kieran O’Dwyer
