This week we explore the Virtue of Trustworthiness. Trustworthiness is acting in a way that inspires confidence and trust; being reliable
A thought from Archbishop Lefebvre
Those who are meek and humble attract souls. It is not a question of abandoning the truth nor even of hiding it, but of enlightening souls with gentleness, with kindness, with humility, knowing we are sinners ourselves and therefore understanding the difficulties of those who are in sorrow, in pain or in moral disorder.
Today, Wednesday, April 24th, we held our College Cross Country from 10.30am to 1.45pm and Parent-Teacher Interviews from 2.00pm to 6.00pm. Students were permitted to attend the day in their full Physical Education uniform, and they were dismissed at 2.00pm.
This Friday, the College community will gather for our annual ANZAC Day Assembly. As we draw closer to Thursday 25 April, ANZAC Day, it is important to reflect on the evolving significance of this solemn occasion. As we are aware ANZAC Day is a day of remembrance, honouring the sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand service men and women who have died in the service of our nations. It is a time to commemorate the courage and selflessness of those who have served, acknowledging the profound loss experienced by their families and communities.
This year, ANZAC Day takes on a unique resonance, framed against the backdrop of the growing unrest in the Middle East, the contemporary challenges experienced by people in Australia and overseas because of natural disasters, and, more recently, the mindless acts of violence and terrorism that we see daily on our screens. The harsh realities of these crises have underscored the fragility of our society and the importance of resilience in the face of adversity. As we remember the sacrifices of the past, we must also acknowledge the ongoing struggles faced by many in the present.
In commemorating and honouring the memory of those who have fallen, we also recognise the sacrifices made by those who continue to serve. And we focus on the human cost of conflict and division, both past and present.
As has been communicated, this term will see the commencement of the Kolbe Learning Centre Swimming Program which will commence on 13th May, the program will run for three weeks each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If there are any parents who would like to volunteer their time to support the program please contact Mrs Liz Alexander.

The CSEF is paid directly to the College and will be allocated by the College towards camps, sports and/or excursion costs for your child.
Families holding a valid means-tested concession card or temporary foster parents are eligible to apply. A Special Consideration category also exists. We are able to receive applications from families over terms one and two. Families can list more than one student on the application form if they are attending the same school.
Please lodge the CSEF application form at the College as soon as possible. Forms can be obtained by contacting the College.
The Conveyance Allowance is a contribution towards transport costs and is not intended to cover the full cost of transporting children to and from school.
The conveyance allowance may be available to students attending the College and:
- travel by public transport or by private car, motorbike, bicycle or bus, and
- whose nearest school is not serviced by a free school bus provided under the School Bus Program
The eligibility criteria includes the requirement that a student attending the College is attending the nearest appropriate school (that is 4.8km or more from the student’s residence).
Incorrect information may result in the application being declined or payment of the claim being delayed. If you have previously applied for this allowance and had a claim not be approved you are encouraged not to reapply unless there has been a change to your living arrangements.
The closing date for applications is Monday 27th May. Forms can be obtained by contacting the College.

Mr Kieran O’Dwyer
