Dear Parents and Carers,
Firstly, I need to make a small correction to my words last week. I mentioned that the visit to the school of the Sisters of the Society of St Pius X would take place from the 18-21 August. In fact, it will take place a week later from the 25 -30 August. Please refer to the Corpus Christi Parish bulletin for details and times of events.
Secondly, two important letters have been sent out earlier this week to parents in relation to child safety procedures. Please read carefully the directives contained in these letters and if you have any questions or wish further clarification, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
More importantly, the celebration of the College’s 25th anniversary, 2nd—3rd September is less than a month away. It comprises of 3 key events. The first event on Friday 2nd September 10am is the morning tea and tour of the College. This event is open to all members of the school community. It will be a wonderful opportunity to catch up with former colleagues or classmates and a great occasion to view the developments of the College. Morning tea will be provided by the P&F.
The second event is the Solemn High Mass 5pm on Saturday 3rd September Feast of St Pius X. Were
it not for the priests of the Society of Saint Pius X and the tremendous contributions of their generous faithful, this school would not exist. More importantly, were it not for the guiding hand of God at every corner of the long road the school has travelled over the past 25th years, this school would not have lasted this long. For this reason, I chose the feast of St Pius X as the day to hold both the Mass
of thanksgiving and the anniversary dinner. Although the dinner is limited to 100 participants due to venue capacity, the Mass is open to all, and I dare say that we should all make every effort to attend the Mass if we believe that we owe the last 25 years to God’s guiding hand and Our Lady’s special protection.
The third event, as already mentioned will be the anniversary dinner. We have chosen Cannibal Creek Winery because we wish to support local businesses and because they make great wines! The winery has reserved 100 bottles of wine specially selected and custom labelled for the College’s anniversary. Some of these wines will be enjoyed on the night and the rest will be make available for purchase after the 3rd of September. Teachers and students from the founding years will be our guest speakers. We look forward to hearing their reminiscences of the early days.
Finally, over the past months Mrs Phillips has been working on the production of a 25th anniversary album which is now ready for printing. The album will be available for purchase at all the above events and beyond. We have a limited number being printed so don’t miss out.
Please join us in celebrating our 25th anniversary at one or all of the three keys events. Your attendance is a precious sign of your support!
Sincerely yours in the Two Hearts,
Father Andrew Cranshaw
