A Word From The Principal – 30 August 2022

Dear Parents and Carers,

This Wednesday we will hold a morning tea to acknowledge the wonderful contribution the Educational Support Staff have made to the College this year. Our Educational Support Staff include all those who operate behind the scenes on a daily basis to ensure the daily operations of the College – from Receptionist, to ICT, to financial management and Learning Support. Our College relies immensely on then all and we are very appreciative of all their work.

Last night a group of over 30 of our secondary students competed in the Eisteddfod Music competition in Traralgon. The Choirs event offered sections covering contemporary choirs, sacred choirs, popular choirs and more. Our students competed in the Secondary Choir competition. They performed really well on the
night winning the main event and coming second in another section at Monday evening’s Eisteddfod. Congratulations! Special thanks go to Fr Stephens, Miss Braaksma for training and conducting the choir and to all parents who supported this undertaking.

Music remains a really important part of our children’s formation. We seek to form our students along the lines of a classical curriculum as best as our means provide.

Part of this formation centres around music. Not all our students are inclined to develop their musical potentials, but for those students that are, we offer them opportunities like the College Choir, instrumental tuition, Chapel Choir and 3 periods per week of music classes from Prep through to Year 10.
This Friday will see the commencement of the events for the 25th Anniversary of the College. It will begin with a morning tea and tour of the College starting at 10am.

The next event, which is the anniversary Mass at Corpus Christi Church will take place on Saturday at 5pm followed by the formal dinner at Cannibal Creek Winery for those who have booked a place. There are still some tickets available for the dinner. At the dinner we will call on teachers, priests and students of the early days to speak of their memories. Please join us for this wonderful evening of celebration to mark this important milestone.

Sincerely yours in the Two Hearts,

Father Andrew Cranshaw
Principal
